- You read this Web page and decide to apply for a Ph.D. degree
- You write your letter to the Director of the Institute of Doctoral Studies explaining your plans and asking any relevant questions you may have in connection with the Ph.D. program at UNN
- You get our answer and proceed with your application
- You send us your application package
- If your application package is accepted, you come to Nizhni Novgorod (using a tourist visa) for entrance examinations.
- You sign a contract with UNN for your studies in the Ph.D. program and discuss all the necessary formalities with our Faculty for International Students.
- You pay your application fee according to the contract
- You pass your entrance examinations and you are issued a document confirming the fact of your admission to our Ph.D. program.
- You return to your home country.
- UNN sends you an official invitation to be used for applying for a student visa at the Russian Embassy in your country
- You get your student visa
- You come to Nizhni Novgorod for your Ph.D. studies
- You begin your Ph.D. studies and research
- You pass your Candidate's exams
- You prepare your dissertation
- You present and defend your dissertation prospectus
- You present and defend your dissertation
- You are awarded Candidate of Sciences degree (Ph.D.) by the Higher Attestation Board of the Russian Federation
