General information

The Interfaculty Base Department of Neurodynamics and Neurobiology of UNN in IAP RAS was established as a unit of Biological Faculty in 2005. It aimed to stimulate educational and research activity in the field of Life Sciences. The directions of the departmental activity include a wide range of problems of modern neuroscience related to cellular neurophysiology (confocal and multiphoton fluorescent microscopy, patch-clamp electrophysiology, multielectrode recordings of living brain slices and neuronal culture), modeling of brain cells, neural network dynamics and the dynamics of functional systems in the brain.

Educational Programs of the Department give an unique opportunity to the students in obtaining a high qualification in modern neurobiology together with advanced training in fundamental physics and mathematics.

Educational program

Specialization. “Biophysics”, “Radiophysics” (Master course direction “Radiophysical methods in neurobiology”).

Qualification. Fundamental biological education with advanced training in physics and mathematics.

Job opportunities for graduate students. Research Institutions of RAS and Russian Academy of Medical Sciences, Medical Research Centers, University Research Laboratories, State and Private Companies dealing with pharmacology, medical and biomedical equipment and applications.
