The Faculty was organized in 1996 on the basis of the Social Sciences Department of the Faculty of History, Social Sciences and Foreign Affairs. The department trains on the basis of a modern three-level system:

• bachelors (4 years of training)
• graduated specialists (5 years of training)
• masters of sociology, philosophy (6 years of training)

Directions of training:

• sociology (day-time form of training)
• social work (day-time and distance forms)
• management in social sphere
• psychology (day-time and distance forms)
• philosophy (master training)
